Horses

Cedar Creek has up to 20 horses living on the farm year round. These horses are specially trained for therapeutic riding and get lots of love from our riders and staff. The horses below are currently being used for therapy or in training to be a therapy horse in the future.  Most of Cedar Creek's horses are donated.

Interested in donating a horse to Cedar Creek?  We are always looking for very special horses to become therapy horses and have all they love they can handle. 

We love stocky small draft breeds that are strong but short in stature and can carry our adult riders but keep them closer to the ground. Horses must have:

• A calm temperament

• Be kid safe

• Sound without shoes

• Not spook at anything

• Easy to catch in the pasture 

• Never foundered

• Under 16hh

• Up to date coggins

• Get along with other horses

Retired lesson horses, 4h ponies, farm/trail horses and unicorns are perfect for the farm! We will travel to interview and pick up horses within two hours of Boone County, Missouri. If you have a horse (or unicorn) that fits the bill please contact us at 573-875-8556.
